A Navratri Festival is a popular Hindu festival in India. The festival is dedicated to worship the Hindu deity Durga. The word meaning of Navaratri means nine nights. It is one of the most popular festivals in India in large cities. During this festival, a good number of people peform special puja in front of the Goddess Durga, Goddess Lakshmi, and Goddess Saraswati. A good number of programs and events are also organized with this special puja, such as chanting mantras, folk songs, and bhajans. This process goes on for nine nights continuously. Out of 9 nights, the first 3 nights are dedicated to the Goddess Durga (Warrior Goddess), who dressed in red and mounted on a lion. Where It Celebrated In the states of Maharashtra and Gujarat, many people wear special clothes to do garba in various places. A special puja is performed before the starting of garba / garbi. However, in several big cities of Maharashtra and Gujarat, private garba events are organized who charges hefty fees for performing / playing garba. During these nine days/nights, a good sadhak (seeker) always reminded of good and diving quality. We have to perform our sadhana in a way to brings out the divine quality in us.
